Services

What to Expect when you book a sleep study

Your GP or specialist has suggested that you perform a sleep study, in order to confirm whether you have obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA).

Once you have made contact with us, we will set up a convenient date for you to do the study. You can come and collect a study device at Suite D50 at the Life Fourways Hospital, where we will explain how to use the machine.

The study is done during the night, in your own home.

After you have returned the study device, our respiratory technologist will download your data. In the event that you have a positive study, you will then require the second part which is called a titration. This will be scheduled with you and again performed at your home.

Our specialist technologist will advise you on the correct mask selection, and device to purchase should you require a continuous pressure device. We offer patient fitting and education on delivery of the device, as well as complementary follow up appointments to assess compliance and address any problems.

We will send your results to your referring doctor after the process has been completed.

We can assist you with submission to your medical aid for authorisation and approval of devices and masks.
